It’s all about community.
During our recent supply drop (Thanks to Julian for the donations!) at a distribution hub in Swannanoa, we witnessed a powerful reminder of what disaster relief is truly about: building connections and responding in real-time to the needs of the community.
At the hub, a coordinator shared an urgent request: “We need someone to check on an entire housing complex, ask them specifically what they need, and make a list. That way, we can ensure they get the right supplies.”
Without hesitation, our friends Cathy and Mark stepped up. They quickly received the address, made their way to the complex, and spoke directly with residents to understand their unique needs. We passed this list along to the Swannanoa hub. Within an hour, they had gathered the requested items from their inventory and delivered everything to the complex.
In times of crisis, responsiveness is key. But it’s the connections forged and strengthened within the community that truly make a difference, enabling us all to work together more effectively.
