Energized Rebuilding

Even as electricity and water return, jobs and schools reopen, and people feel their nervous systems becoming more regulated, it’s still clear that the efforts to recover from the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene will take years. Many people lost their entire homes and businesses.

Western NC’s story continues to reveal NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS. Thanks for being a part of these grassroots community solutions!

Our final wave of relief efforts from your donations went to help a family of 4 to energize their rebuilding needs. Amairani, her husband, and their 2 boys live in Nebo, NC (1 hr East of Asheville). Their entire mobile home was destroyed by Hurricane Helene. Fortunately, during the storm, they were able to evacuate in time to stay physically safe. However, since the flooding aftermath they’ve lived in donated hotel rooms and now they are residing in a loaner camper until they can repair their home. She reached out for help because they don’t have the insurance or funds to clean out the mold and restructure the house.

Because of you, we were able to provide them with Lowe’s gift cards so Amarirani’s husband can restore their mobile home with his own hands! We hope their family will be able to be back in their home soon. Their family sends their heartfelt blessings and gratitude to you for your support.
